Kallimachos of Cyrene

Kallimachos of Cyrene was a Greek writer and poet. He was born in 305 BC (Kyrenia) and died in 240 BC (Alexandria).

Kallimachos of Cyrene was the court poet of the Ptolemies and was also in charge of cataloguing the library of Alexandria.

Of his works, 6 hymns and 63 epigrams have survived. These works had a great influence on Roman poetry.
