Greco - Persian Wars

The fights between the Greek city-states and the Persian Empire lasted for decades and finally ended by the victory of the Greeks. Their victory was unexpected, but all the more celebrated. The Greco-Persian Wars include the famous Battle of Marathon and the Battle of Thermopylae.
