Glaukos

In Greek mythology, Glaukos is a sea god who had the gift of divination, which helped fishermen find rich fishing grounds. He was the son of the god Poseidon.

Originally, Glaukos was said to be a mortal sailor. He one day found an herb that brings fish back to life. And after tasting it himself, he gained immortality but grew fins for arms and a fish tail for legs. This forced him to stay in the sea.

The witch Kirke fell in love with Glaukos. But he did not return her love because he himself fell in love with the beautiful girl Skylla. Kirké didn't like that and turned Skylla into a sea monster. When Glaukos saw this transformation, he fled from Skylla and Kirke out of grief. Some sources say that he built the ship Argo, on which the Argonauts sailed and whom he helped.
