Phorcys

In Greek mythology, Phorcys represents the sea god who is both the guardian of the sea and the keeper of all sea monsters. He was the son of Pontus (god of the deep sea) and Gaia (goddess of the earth).

He married his sister K茅t贸 (goddess of the seas) and together they had several offspring: three Graia (En媒贸, Pefr茅d贸 and Dein贸), three Gorgons (Sthen贸, Euryale and Medusa), the dragon L谩d贸n (the stocky guardian of the golden apples in the garden of the Hesperides), the nymph Tho贸sa (mother of Cyclops Polyphemus) and the sea monster Skylla.
