Soroni Beach - Rhodes island

Soroni

The narrow pebble beach of Soroni is located in the northwestern part of the Greek island of Rhodes, about 23 km southwest of the capital city.

Soroni Beach forms part of the small seaside resort of Soroni, or more precisely, the small seaside village of Soroni. The beach itself fits in perfectly with the character of the whole village, it is very quiet and simply equipped.

The beach of Soroni is covered with pebbles of various sizes, sometimes even with sharper stones. The entrance to the sea is more difficult, both because of the rocky surface of the beach and because the beach lies on the west coast of Rhodes, which is generally more windy. However, the sea in this area is wonderfully clear and invites for swimming.

There is one small tavern Elena near the beach which is highly praised by visitors. But apart from the tavern there are no other facilities for tourists here and also no sunbeds or umbrellas are being rent (but you can find a few on the beach, albeit in various states of disrepair). If you're staying in the area in the early evening, we definitely recommend you waiting for a spectacular sunset - either during dinner in the tavern or just quietly and privately from the beach.

Though, the view from the beach can be spoiled by one building in the distance, namely the Soroni power station, which is however very important for Rhodes as it supplies the whole island with electricity.
