Kouloura Beach is located in a remote and relatively deserted area of Rhodes. The nearest village is the small, traditional village of Apolakkia, which is famous for its olives, citrus fruits and especially its delicious melons. North of Kouloura is the long and very spacious pebble beach of Apolakkia, which is as unorganised and wild as Kouloura.

The surface of Kouloura Beach is a mixture of fine sand and fairly large pebbles, which cover its entire length. Kouloura is a purely natural and unorganised beach.
