Greek philosophers

Celsus

Celsus was a Greek Neo-Platonic philosopher who was born in the 2nd century AD and lived in Alexandria.

Not much is known about Celsus, and what is known comes from Órigenes' Against Celsus.

Celsus was supposed to have written a treatise attacking both Christianity and Judaism. He accused both religions of departing from the ancient wisdom of mankind (Homer, Orpheus, and others), thus creating chaos in the world and threatening the Roman Empire itself.
