Greek gods - others
In Greek mythology, Phorcys represents the sea god who is both the guardian of the sea and the keeper of all sea monsters. He was the son of Pontus (god of the deep sea) and Gaia (goddess of the earth).
He married his sister Kétó (goddess of the seas) and together they had several offspring: three Graia (Enýó, Pefrédó and Deinó), three Gorgons (Sthenó, Euryale and Medusa), the dragon Ládón (the stocky guardian of the golden apples in the garden of the Hesperides), the nymph Thoósa (mother of Cyclops Polyphemus) and the sea monster Skylla.
