Fodele Beach is one of the two main beaches that form part of the seaside resort of the same name, Fodele (or Paralia Fodele). The resort is rather smaller and peaceful, but well equipped for tourism and set in beautiful countryside around the Pantomantrion river and a large orange grove. It is situated on the coast of the Gulf of Fodele and during periods of strong northerly winds, big waves are not uncommon.

The coastline, which slopes gently into the crystal clear sea, is covered with fine light sand. This makes the beach popular with families with children. In the event of stronger winds and bigger waves, take the children to the nearby Fodele Water Park, for example, where both adults and children can work off their energy. As well as water slides, water slides and pools, you can also play mini golf or tennis.

Fodele Beach is one of the organised beaches with good tourist facilities. In the immediate vicinity of the beach there are several hotels and other accommodation facilities, a number of excellent taverns, bars and shops. Right on the beach you can find beach service in the form of sunbeds and umbrellas, showers and beach bars. A lifeguard ensures the safety of visitors during the high season.

The beach is also easily accessible for tourists from outside the resort, as it lies directly on the road connecting the capital Heraklion with Rethymno.
